Academy Day Training
Some call it “The Academy.” Some call it “School.” Your dog calls it “the best day ever.”
Our Academy Day Training program is so much more than daycare. This program is designed for dogs who need to learn how to dog. Academy Day Training builds confidence, social skills, and real-world reliability in a low-stress, supportive environment.
Dogs are dropped off at our facility for the whole day. While with us, they will receive structured training paired with social play, using interaction with other dogs as a catalyst for learning. Through small group play and guided experiences, dogs are encouraged to make thoughtful choices, helping them develop better decision-making skills rather than simply following commands.
Our program follows a progressive curriculum, starting with foundational skills like engagement and attention, and advancing toward more complex behaviors such as place, heel, and appropriate manners in real-life situations.
Along the way, dogs benefit from enrichment activities and field trips to dog-friendly locations, giving them the opportunity to practice skills in new environments. Academy Day Training is perfect for dogs who need guidance, clarity, and the chance to grow into their best selves.
Camp Wild Hearts Board and Train
Camp Wild Hearts provides an immersive training experience designed to create meaningful, lasting behavior change. Training is approached with intention and uses science-based behavior modification techniques tailored to each individual dog.
During the program, dogs are fully integrated into a trainer’s home and live alongside the trainer’s personal dogs. This home environment promotes learning in a safe, supportive setting while allowing dogs to practice new skills in everyday situations. While undergoing this type of training, dogs in the program receive daily structured training, tailored to their individual needs. We can help with building foundational obedience, addressing specific complex issues, or improving reliability in real-world situations.
The focus is on helping dogs learn how to make better choices, not simply follow commands. Our Board & Train program expands the range of appropriate responses dogs can use when aroused or stressed, helping replace reactive or fearful behaviors with more thoughtful ones. Through consistent guidance, clear communication, and carefully planned exposure to new experiences, dogs develop the skills needed to move through the world with greater confidence and clarity.
Owner involvement is an essential part of the entire Board & Train process. Regular report cards and check-ins are provided throughout the dog’s stay. At the end of the program, hands-on coaching ensures a smooth transition home and provides the tools needed to maintain progress. Much of this coaching is delivered through video so it can be revisited as communication and training continue to develop at home. The goal is not simply a well-trained dog, but a stronger, more connected relationship between dogs and their people.
Because each Board & Train program is highly individualized, we work with only one dog at a time. All programs begin with a consultation to determine whether this training format is the best fit. During this meeting, a trainer will assess the dog’s needs and discuss goals with the family before the program begins.
Canine Connected Coaching
Coaching sessions with WHCA provide individualized support for dogs and their guardians working through complex behavioral challenges. These 90-minute sessions allow trainers the time and space to fully observe the dog, understand the underlying causes of behavior, and develop a thoughtful training plan tailored to the needs of both dog and family.
Rather than focusing on quick fixes, these sessions are designed to build deeper understanding and clearer communication between dogs and their people. Trainers work directly with guardians to identify stress signals, recognize patterns in behavior, and develop practical strategies that can be applied in everyday life.
Each session blends hands-on coaching with structured training exercises, giving guardians the tools and confidence needed to support their dog’s progress outside of training. Our goal is to help create lasting change by strengthening the relationship, trust, and communication between dogs and their humans.
Purposeful Packs - Guided Playgroups
Our guided playgroups provide dogs with the opportunity to play and build valuable social skills in a safe, monitored environment. Unlike traditional dog parks, all play sessions are carefully supervised by experienced trainers who guide interactions and ensure that play remains healthy, appropriate, and fun for every dog involved.
Playgroups take place in our fully fenced yard and are thoughtfully organized based on each dog’s temperament, play style, and comfort level. Trainers actively monitor body language, step in when needed, and help dogs practice appropriate social behaviors with one another. All while helping pet parents learn to recognize what their dog looks like during appropriate play.
These sessions are a great way for dogs to gain confidence, burn energy, and develop better communication skills with other dogs. This is a great way for dogs to learn how to regulate their excitement and make good choices during social interaction.
Guided Playgroups are ideal for dogs who enjoy playing with others but benefit from structure, guidance, and a controlled environment where positive social experiences can thrive. You do not have to be a current client to participate in Guided Playgroups, but please call or fill out the consultation request form to sign up.
